The design of the theater is based on a simple question: What is the essence of drama, and how can this essence best be supported architecturally? Unlike other arts, drama is a performance in time. Each production is the unique experience of a particular audience. The true life of drama is not on the stage, but rather, in the journey which is stimulated in the minds of the audience. As our lives become increasingly mechanized, and an overload of interactions consumes our time for reflection, drama offers an opportunity to rise above the mind-numbing effects of ordinary life.
